Member of the Month – September

We are excited to announce SEPTEMBER’S Member of the Month YVONNE.
She is our lovely gym neighbour and an absolute delight to have her part of our community.

She always puts her best foot forward and always determined to be better doesn’t matter what life throws at her.

Take a moment to read her journey so far with us.

Q: How long have you been a member at Proficient?
A:  4.5 years now after moving in next door to CrossFit Proficient

Q: What is your favourite thing about being a Proficient athlete?
A: I have gained strength and improved my overall fitness and wellbeing. Never thought I could lift heavy weights!

Q: How would you describe the community at Proficient? 
A: I would describe the community as inclusive, friendly and inspiring. The coaches, Jessie and Bianca have amazing knowledge in there field  and are always there to advise and listen.
They  have supported me through some hard times which I am grateful.

Q: What advice do you have for someone who is intimidated by group fitness?
A: “DON’T BE INTIMIDATED ”
We are all there for the same reason and that is too improve our fitness and mobility and also to be around people who feel the same way!

Q: Favourite music to sweat to?
A: Dance/ RNB/

Q: Least favourite music to sweat to?
A:  SLOW

Q: Favourite movement/workout?
A: Deadlifts & Split jerks

: Least favourite movement/workout?
A: Snatch and anything overhead. YUUKKKK

Q: Is there a member of the Proficient Community that inspires and motivates you to be better? 
A: Everyone in the community  inspires me, however the lunchtime crew motivate me to lift heavier and go harder.

Q: Is there a member of the Proficient community that needs to know you are coming for them? Feel free to put them on notice!
A: Nope

Q: Favourite post-workout meal?
A:  Long Black coffee when attending  an early session or eggs on a bagel if it’s a lunch time session.

Q: What fitness-related goals do you have for 2023?
A: Stronger/ fitter and hopefully leaner 😊

Q: Describe your athletic abilities in five words or less.
A: strength, endurance and ability to be agile.

Q: What’s your background story outside of Proficient? 
A:  I have been in gyms, dance classes and playing Netball for many years.
CrossFit Proficient  has taught me not to be scared to use heavy weights and that I can always  improve my fitness and become stronger, no matter your age.
